I have a 92 2wd 3L ranger and the oil pan is starting to seep oil out the side, not a lot but enough to concern me. Now I went to my local u pull, and all the rangers there 15!!! had rotted pans, but I seen one out of a 97 taurus 3L that was brand new still had a ford sticker on it, can I use that pan if I swap the pickup too???. 150$$ compared to 25 at the wrecker. Thank you for your time and input!!!

Just get a new one and dont put used up beat up sh*t on your truck

If it fit, I'd do it. Check your clearances first.

I can already say no. But they are close. Buy it, if it doesn't fit just beat it some.

My 02 Ranger has the pan from on 07 Taurus on it, (forgot to order a new pan when I did the motor swap so I decide to us the Taurus donor motor pan) It clears the cross member on 2wd just fine.

Thank you for the input, as funds are kind of low thats why I asked. For 25$ I`ll give it a go, and let you all know how I make out!!, again thank you!!:D

p.s should I get the pickup that comes with the taurus????

If they throw it in for free or even a couple of bucks i would grab it....you never know you might need it.

I thought it might be a good idea so I will just so I have it just in case. I will be going back to the wrecker this coming weekend to grab it and will let you all know how it all went . Thaks for your time!!!:icon_thumby:

my 94 3.0 4x4 5speed had the taurus pan on it when I bought it, it also had a hole the size of my finger from hitting on the edge of the pivot bracket for the pass side beam I was told the motor was replaced 10,000 miles before I got it if I recall correctly and it got the hole from hitting a guard rail hard enough to bend the drivers side beam back 3+ inches the old pan was just touching the bracket. replaced it with a new ranger pan and now have probably an inch of clearance. also for removal and reinstall; I blocked the body up about 6-7 inches and the motor/tranny up about 8-9 inches while watching the wires/cables/hoses for clearance (did remove the brake master cylinder from the booster and the intake piping), I also had the frame supported above normal ride height (tires almost off the ground) near the radius arms. I was able to slid the pan down off the oil pickup tube then back off the crossmember turn/flip, then down and out from under the truck, the new pan went in the opposite way. Worked fine for me and seemed easier than disconnecting and pulling the tranny or motor out of the truck like the manuals say.
