Tattoo Ideas?

I am thinking about getting a tattoo but i am not sure exactly what i want.

I like
Hot rods
Diesels
Pinstriping
Motorycles
Trucks
Tools
Just about anything mechanical
Rebel Flags
I am a Christian so maybe something religous
Maybe a memorial to my Grandpa who influenced my lif greatly (so firefighter, steam engine related)

Any ideas would be appreciated or maybe show yours for some ideas

I have 3 tattoos myself, getting ready for a 4th. I would recommend that you don't get one yet. I'm not trying to bag on you, but if you have to ask other people for ideas, then you are getting the tattoo for all the wrong reasons. This is going to be on your body for the rest of your life, so don't get one that other people think is cool, get one that you think is cool, and means something to you.

Here are mine.

The Phoenix symbolizes rebirth.

This one is from the Bible, the story of King Nebuchudnezzar (i think that's spelled right). It means "You have been weighed in the scales and found wanting"

just make sure its original and means something to you. dont pick a tattoo off the wall or out of a magazine. one of a kind is the way to go.

Don't get one. They cost money and are painful. haha That's just my opinion. If you want one really badly and it means something to you, then get one. But don't get too much or it could look trashy, once again in my opinion.

But i got a sketch i made that i will try to get posted whenever i can find my camera. Its rough but it's something i think i will try to get closer to a final design. But i hope to see some more peoples tattoos

Just because someone has tattoos doesn't mean they're jumping on a bandwagon. Some of us just like them. You're more than welcome to your opinion, but there's no reason to come into a tattoo thread just to tell us all how stupid you think we are.

Amen. It came in the mid 90's, everyone got tattoos and huge gauged ears. Sadly it all comes back. I guess they put the tat shows up on tv and its all over. so many people, especially girls, getting stupid meaningless ones done. I feel at least....

But then again there are those who do get them for the right reasons, so they feel. Nothing against those people, but even you cannot deny that its been pretty trendy as of recently.

I don't think people with tattoos are stupid. I'm saying that regardless of what the tattoo depicts, there's nothing original or unique about them when it's the bandwagon thing to do. 99% of the tattoos I've seen have no meaning anyway. When I've asked people who have tattoos of whatever, the usual response is "uh....I just thought it looked cool."
But hey, if people want to get little drawings of random stuff permanently etched into their skin, that's their business. I don't have a problem with anyone who has them, I have friends who have them, but I just think it's a shame people are so desperate for attention. After all, dudes don't get tattoos in places nobody can see them. What would be the point? Personally, I feel a person commands attention based on substance. I make my own decisions, and I'm not influenced by other people or what I see on TV or what's "trendy". And if anyone who has tattoos is actually offended by this, they really have no business having them. To be offended by my comments is to be insecure with the choice they made. I'm not trying to piss anybody off. The dude asked for opinions, and the only reason I commented is because he doesn't have any yet.

Some day when I have children I am going to have their names tattooed on my leg. I don't see it as trendy, I see it as meaningful. Most of the tat's i've seen on here these guys have are meaningful. However, the guys who are covered head to toe in tat's, completely meaningless. That I will agree with you on.
