tanny swap need help

well i just picked up a 1993 3.0 v6 4x4 and the trans is shot. i was wondering if i could pull out the tran in my 94 ranger 2.3 4x4 would that work?? im thing the gear ratio would be diff.

Not sure where you read that, but it if was on this site, they were clearly wrong.

2.3 and 2.5
3.0
2.8, 2.9, 4.0

second gear is gone in the 3.0 trans..... prolly cant take parts out of my 2.3 to fix it...?

Auto or manual?

The auto has a removable bell housing so you could swap it. The manual does not.

if both are m5od take the guts out of the 2.3 trans and put them in the 3.0 housin. plumcrazy done something similar with his truck and did a thread for it good pics and article. should be of good help to you if you want to go that route. just search for the thread.
