t-stat problem.......pleaze help!

I could almost swear there's a Chevy housing that's almost exactly like that.

Rockauto shows two thermostat housings for the 84 ranger, One doesn't have a pic, but is described as a "3 hole" type. Might try getting in touch with them to see if you can get a pic.

The correct part number is motorcraft RH-16 and it has two holes same as his picture above.

ooops, never mind. Need to get more sleep I guess. That's obviously not going to match.

While we are here - - I got my '85 housing from a regular parts store and they are not rare. That lower housing at the rear of the water pump (that sends water up through the smaller hose) is not made or carried by anyone the last time I tried to get one. I got one from another engine. Watch the threads! (And clean the area before re-assembly) I would suggest new bolts if the old ones have any problems - the bolts are stock metric and somewhat easy to get.
