Has anyone ever swapped a later parking brake pedal into a first gen to get rid of the stupid adjustment system on the first gen trucks? Either I've read the adjustment procedure wrong or the system just sucks. I can make a handle to release it, thats not an issue, it just seems like a better design. I have access to both the 93-94 style and the 95+ style pedals, thoughts?

I installed a later version e-brake in my truck. I had to weld the assembly in, the original cable was a pain to connect, but it does work well. I only spent about an hour to complete the install, its been 10 years without any problems.

Which one did you use? And why did you need to weld it in?

I don't remember the exact year, but it was a 2000 plus truck. The assembly looked the same, but the bolt pattern was off just enough to prevent it from being able to bolt. I could have spent a couple days cutting out the A pillar kick plate of both trucks, but why ! I welded it so it can be removed with a zip wheel if it needed to be replaced.
