SVT sound...

ok, its probably a long shot... but is there ANY way, to get a Raptor SVT sound out of my ranger short of dropping in a 6.2... im pretty sure its impossible, but theres that little glimmer of hope... haha, any ideas would be appreciated...

You can almost get a V6 to sound like an 8 at idle... after a couple more RPM the buzz always comes out... I don't think anyone has got that nut cracked yet.

although right now, i swear my 4.0 sounds like my dads carbuerated 5.9L chrysler... with a thrush welded, with no cats... but im just wondering about acceleration sounds, because right now my truck sounds exactly like every other thrush ranger...

Get a vroom box, then you could make your truck sound like any high end vehicle. I saw it put on a mini van and you could select cars like a maserati, lamborghini, gt500, hemi cuda, or olds 442. I'm sure it's expensive though.

You want true duals with the proper size cat on each exhaust......for example 5.0L engine with dual exhaust= put a cat on each exhaust designed for a 2.5 to 3.0L engine....

next.......do NOT use automotive mufflers........

next.....buy two mufflers used or/EBay that are designed for a 1500CC Harley motorcycle..........

drill the guts out of each muffler with a metal-cutting hole saw using a drill extension rod.....

run the exhaust pipes from the cats to the rear of the vehicle....

cut off enough on each exhaust pipe to be able to clamp/or weld the harley muffler to each exhaust pipe.....

Congratulations..........you now have a vehicle that sounds like a S.B. V-8...

IMO, 4 cyls should sound like 4 cyls, V6s should sound like a V6 and a V8 should sound like a V8
