anybody know anything about a supposed "sound baffle" in the intake somewhere? ive seen it on other vehicles but not sure about my ranger... sorry to pull you away from your sound box discussions but...

it would look like a box coming off the air intake, just remove it and plug the hole, or there's the air muffler on the bottom of the air box, just pull it out

MBRP exhaust is the best, lowest rumbly exhaust I've heard. But it's a V6. So when you floor it it's still gonna sound like a V6 haha.

There are a number of things that can change the exhaust sound, besides the exhaust.
1. headers
long tubes, shorties, equal length shorties, or tri Ys
2. Boost
Superchargers make the exhaust louder, turbos quiet it up
3. timing or an msd box
4. Bank fire and Multiport efi fuel injection have completely different sounds.
ex. (this is why 302 f150s sound completely different from 302 mustangs)
5. cam
6. head volume
