I'm in the process of finally trying to finish all the wiring in a 24x30 shed. The plan is to insulate it and put up tin in the inside. I'm at the point now where i want to finish the radio setup. I already have the speaker wire ran, which there's 4 speakers and they are wired separately. I also have a 8 hole speaker plate ordered off ebay for where the speaker wires come out of the wall and go into the radio. So, my question is, would just home surround sound speakers be any good for radio only use? and is there a bad set to get? I'm mainly just looking on ebay and there is ALOT of stuff to choose from. I would like a decent amount of bass without adding a sub, but not Beastie Boys type bass consistently. I pretty much only listen to country music and 1 talk radio show on AM and i would like to hear pretty clearly what's being said. And i saw some speakers come with a wall mount, which mine will have to be hung on the wall, as i don't think my walls are thick enough to have the speakers mounted in the wall and have enough insulation in the wall yet. Any help is appreciated.

Surround sound speakers don't typically put out much bass at all, hence the need for a subwoofer. You could just get a set of floor speakers and hang them on the wall. I have a set of klh speakers in my house with 15" speakers in them. They sound pretty good.

Bookshelf speakers work great. That's what I did in my shop. Just hangem on the wall. I made little corner shelves and put mine on.

That's what i have now. The way i have them now are literally sitting in the wall. So when the tin is up i'll need get some kinda of hanger or shelf. I might just copy your shelf, unless anyone else knows of any smaller speakers with a good sound that have a premounted hanger on them.

:yahoo:Bose ice cube speakers would work ideally. They have a mount built into them. They are about 3" cubed. Check them out at Best Buy or the Bose store at larger malls.:icon_thumby::icon_thumby:

You'll get absolutely NO bass about of Bose cubes and they'll sound tinny and crappy. There's a reason they're sold with subwoofers...
