Supercrew with a 6’ bed!

If it has 4 full size doors and a back seat its a car, if its called a truck and has whats called a bed its just a bigger open trunk, a few suit cases is all it will hold.
An SUV with open rear section, so a car

So buy a "car" then buy a trailer as big as you need or as big as the "car" is allowed, or better yet, rent a trailer as needed, for larger loads

If you want a truck then buy a truck, 2 doors, big bed, maybe some storage behind the seats with access doors

Need to haul lumber or a canoe in your "car" with the open trunk, have a look: https://www.princessauto.com/en/det...ed-hitch-mount-truck-bed-extender/A-p8540882e

:)

I have a 6.5 bed now.

It is nice to have a toolbox for load binders, ratchet straps, recovery gear, jumper cables and other assorted "truck stuff" and still have something left for bedspace to haul things like our three wheelers, mulch, transmissions and other misc things that pop up.

If the cab of your truck wont fit in the bed of your truck then its not a truck.

I too need a super crew with the 6 foot bed in the new 2019 Ford Ranger. The other configurations just don't meet my needs. I realize that this would require a longer frame and drive train but all the current competitors offer this (Toyota, Nissan, Chevy and GMC) and around here they seem to sell well. I'm curious why Ford doesn't offer it in the new 2019 Ranger but hopeful that they will add to the lineup in 2020, otherwise I may have to shop elsewhere.

Ding Ding Ding....
99% of the miles are driven with nothing in the bed. Short bed 4 doors are the most popular trucks today. Lots of ways to carry long loads in a short bed truck if you ever need to.
We have a winner.

They make them like this because of the Majority of people that want a little Ranger... want 4 doors and a trunk like space.
Ford isn't dropping the ball on this..... This Ranger Launch is a MasterClass in Marketing.
Eventually, you will get all the options and all the variables. But right off the start they limit everything and put their most expensive, top of the line equipment out for all the reviews

Ford wasn't gonna return to the Midsize class without a truck that can go toe to toe with any midsize out there on the market today.....
That is what they did.

The 5" bed is the prime reason I have not bought a new Ranger (the second is my preferred cap vendor does not have a cap yet.) I do like the truck, and could probably live with the 4 cyl T, but that shorty bed will not carry 2 bicycles with the wheels on and 11 foot surf rods (5.5" sections), something my current 1997 Ranger Supercab 4x4 will do securely all day with the rods mounted on the inside of the roof of the cap. Roof racks and bike carriers are not secure from the curious tinkerers and theives on overnight lodging stays.

I would like the options of a crew cab and 6' bed. I use the current truck for recreation, hauling and even camping (rarely) and the 6" bed and cap works perfectly and allows for a roof rack with 5.5' bar spread for carrying 2 sea kayaks. Two more seats and doors would be wonderful.

You will probably need to go with F150, I doubt the Rangers will get the 6' box

F150 SuperCrew cabs come with 5.5' box or a 6.5' box
