stuck in 4 low

Okay I check all 3 connections into that module and all looked fine. I did notice that with the seat flipped down so the module was expossed I could hear it clicking when pushing 4 hi. Does that ring a bell to anyone? I would think when things click like that its usually ground related.

It is supposed to click.
There is also a reset button on that box , right next to the red led, a white button.
With the key on press the button on this may help.

I will say I was having problems with mine and swapped it out for a manual in les time than I had spent trying to get the other system to work.
Shift motors and control modules cost as much as a transfer case and linkage.

GMillion$ is right. There's lots of info in the Tech Section on diagosing the problem. I'm dealing with this myself right now, and the info there is very helpful.

Assuming there is something wrong with your tranfer case actuation system (as opposed to the transfer case itself being bad) there are four components (sort of).
1) the shift motor
2) the push button module
3) the electronic shift control module
4) all the wiring, fuses, fusible links and connectors in between

Check your fuses first. Verify the system has power.
If A-Okay, then move to the next step.
If you push the buttons and hear clicking, the modules are probably working and your t-case shift motor is probably bad. Easy replacement. (Sometime they work again just by taking them off and putting them back on.)

If you don't hear any clicking, One of your modules is likely bad.
Read up on how to test/reset the ESCM (electronic shift control module - easy - push the button - watch the light blink). If no light, check power to the module (read how in the tech section). You can also check the functioning of the pushbutton module this way. Chasing down wiring/ground/short issues is probably more difficult.

If you follow these steps, you will likely identify the problem fairly quickly, with a minimum of effort.
Good Luck!

PS I'm new at this, so if I gave bad advice above, feel free to educate us.
PPS I didn't read the second page before I posted. You've done most of this. If you have clicking at your relays, the problem is likely your shift motor.

well i only hear clicking when i push 4 high but not with the 4 low button.

also i pushed the reset button and red light came on but when i pressed the 4 wheel drive buttons the light goes out and doesnt come back on unless i reset it.

I'm far from the expert in this, but if you go to the Tech Section (Transfer Case Troubleshooting - Step 3b), it gives a description of how to test the signal from the LOW-HIGH switch (button). If you check this (it's easy to do), you will know if your switch is bad or if the module itself is bad.

From your description, it seems like it could be either, but I'd suspect the module, because if you press the button, the module reacts, just not the way it should.

Unplug the module and then hold the white self test button basically. Mine clicked and wouldnt shift until I cleaned the motor, it was 20 minute fix and even if it aint the problem its a good prevention to do anyways. I might have already posted but I dont remember so go easy.
