Just sitting here thinking. I know someone has done this. thought about putting a straight axle under my 03 ranger. What straight axle would fit best to match up with the stock rear end. would a Dana 35 be the same length? and the best bet to keep my rear end? and if anyone of you have done this what a was involved besides axle and spring brackets and spring?
Just wondering and dreaming a little. Thanks for the info.

use a waggy front D44. Im not sure on the years, but i am sure that there is plenty of info in the stickies at the top of this section

every axil will have a diffrent bolt paturn then you have....and i hear you are lucky to get out away with an sas less then a $100o....and in your case you have alot of fab work

For wagoneers it's best to use the 80-83, and 86 and up. (Thats what was told to me on another thread.) It may be a year or two off.

I'm plannin on swappin in leafs up front in my '00. A lot cheaper and easier then runnin coils.

The engine cross member needs to come out too. If you look in the SAS truck gallery, Ryan somethin or other did a really clean swap on his 98 usin a waggy 44. His car domain page has some great pics of the swap and the work involved.

jeep's have the same bolt pattern as your truck, 5x4.5.

I hope your not talking about that god awful ranger with the Huge lift. Please do not refer people to him as a good example. His ranger and bronco2 are death traps.

Well sorry then. I've only seen his Ranger. I'd never lift as high as he did, but his pictures do show a good example of what all is needed and done during the swap.
