That was my guess too. I was hoping 3 inch but thats pry wishful thinking.Somebody does. But it's not me. I would guess 2.5" . But thats purely a guess.
Reason im asking is my 97 F250 is going to need a muffler soon. I want to give it something with a growl and found a flowmaster system i liked...but it was a bit quiet at 400+ bucks.Yea I doubt they used 3". I would assume 2.5 as well.
I can do that yes. I think im overthinking it....a tailpipe 1/2 difference pry isnt gonna choke it.Just use a 2.5 (or whatever it is) to 3" adapter.![]()
Im considering the 300 tailpipe for my 460 to do away with the stupid dual pipes and to put on a flowmaster to replace the holy factory one.A 300 would have had a single tailpipe no more than 2 1/4, 351's got the dual tailpipes that I thought were stupid. I'd rather have a bigger single tailpipe. A 2 1/2" single system should be more than adequate for a 300, that's what I have on my 351 Ranger and my 13 second, 302 Mustang. Think carefully before putting loud exhaust on an inline 6, maybe consider a turbo muffler or a stock muffler for an F250 with a 460 but that would have dual tailpipes.
I suspect that would work fine, the farther from the engine it is, the less effect restriction has on power. A truck 460 probably spends most of it's time at lower RPMs, anyway. My son swears by Flowmasters, I think they sound like hollow tin cans but they do flow well.Im considering the 300 tailpipe for my 460 to do away with the stupid dual pipes and to put on a flowmaster to replace the holy factory one.
Ive been listening to clips on youtube. The super 44 sounds real mean but according to the loud chart its like two steps above open headers. The 70 series was a bit quiet get so im thinking a 50 or 60 will suit me.I suspect that would work fine, the farther from the engine it is, the less effect restriction has on power.
