If its the v6 I would suspect it would be the same as rangers and have 2" pipe in and out. I would get a 2.25 in/out and just get two 2 to 2.25 reducers and use them. Although I am not 100% sure the size of the pipe but its not bigger then 2.25 or 2.5"

bump. stock exhaust on a 95-01 explorer 4.0 need to know what size it is.

On my old 94 4L Ranger the stock exhaust was 2", then I changed it to a Flow 40 and 2.5 pipe. My friend's 94 Explorer stock size is 2". I believe the 95+ 4L's would be 2" as well.

really, thats it? i was atleast expecting 2 1/4. guess im gonna run a 2 1/2 tail then.

thanks mtnrgr

~2.5" through the cats, necks down to 2" on the tailpipe...

ok, well i descided to not run the super 44, i plan on making alot of roadtrips in the truck and want the interior as quiet as possible.

so im going to run a dynomax super turbo.

my next question is, will a 2 1/2 tailpipe be too much? i plan on running both pipes into a 3'' pipe, then step it down to 2 1/2 into the muffler, then 2 1/2 tailpipe to the stock location.

not trying to hijack the thread, but so after the cats to that flange is that all 2.5" pipe? then it necks down to 2" after the flange??
