Need some assistance on a good quality replacement for a solenoid replacement. Have checked around and different parts and prices, what is considered being a good part and not cheap China crap?

This is for the original starter from 94..had a complete rebuild on it 2017 in San Diego. Where I live now, I checked and the guy doesn't use quality parts. I called ford and it's not available. The solenoid recently gave out, I installed my spare from a 97 3.0 ranger I've had for years. That starter is also an original Motorcraft part.

Really don't wanna buy a used jy starter as I wouldn't know the condition or time frame of it lasting.

Any help is always appreciated.

You get what you pay for.

But unfourantly any part, regardless of name or price...is going to be of shitty chinese quality espicially for stuff thats 25-30+ yrs old

Original parts are getting really hard to come by anymore, a lot of stuff has been discontinued for years. Aftermarket and even rebuild parts now typically are crap quality and most come from China. It’s a crap shoot really. I’ve pretty much given up hunting obsolete parts and just gone to buying “lifetime” warranty stuff from Autozone. Things like starters and alternators I usually have them throw it on their test machine and test it right out of the box because sometimes they fail right out of the box and on the test machine. When it dies on the vehicle, I just take it back and tell them to give me a new one.

94... Don't it have the solenoid on the fender too for startup? Try bridging it with a screwdriver carefully because it will spark.
If it cranks and fires it's definitely a bad starter

That's how I started my 98 4.0 when the starter was going out, you didn't even need the key in.
If it starts that way put key to ON not RUN, Dash will bootup

The secondary solenoid will be on top you can see it on the driver side fender usually between fuse box n battery

Once I figured that out I took out my fuel relay because it's that easy to start without an actual key. All they need is to break your keyhole to unlock steering.
