So does it matter the type of welder you use?I tried with my friends lincoln electric I think MIG welder, the kind where you pull a trigger and wire feeds through and makes lots of sparks? If that should work then I'm betting I need to improve my welding skills, but that seemed to fail quicker than any of the jb weld options, and thank you for the answer
You might find a swap best. IF you can find a suitable swap in your situation. With limited skills/tools/transportation, and knowledge of the job, it could be tough. A pick N pay junkyard would be the place to look, but as stated, even that is not easy on a newbie, or maybe it is, depends what you run into there. You could also search the marketplace listings for similar trucks, Transmissions, for possibilities.
Unless you just stumbled across a loose bell housing laying around somewhere a complete transmission swap might work best. Good luck with it man
