sport trac to a ranger

still not much other then the photo shoot i did with offroad mag is in the June issue. just got mine in the mail.

hopefully be doing another when i get it running again about how to do a ca. smog legal motor swap.

not sure how to post a pdf file so you will have to check it out if you get it in the mail or at the news stand.

I opened up an offroad magazine and saw your rig in it, nice job!!

thanks

got it back from wiring. i will take some shots soon and post them. looks very clean and he stub out some wires for future (truck is never done). got it started but had to shut it down because the right side was getting supper hot in just minuets. getting the cats real hot. took the injectors out and had them sonic clean/flow tested. seemed fine. i don’t have time to mess with it this week so i took it to a shop that i have worked with.
will see.
still have to transfer the AC Freon stuff over, finish the exhaust, adjust the gate shifter, a little trans work, and a few other small things. hopefully ready for baja 500.

O.K. truck is back home. got tired of waiting on the shop so i took some of my tools and a $0.25 hose clamp and some new gas proof hose (i had some left over from a new spare pump kit i use to carry with my old motor) and went over to the shop.
i told the mechanic what i was going to do and he just laughed at me.

i put the new rubber hose on with hose clamps on all ends. put the fuel cell back together and started it up. ran like crap so i changed the plugs and fixed a few water leaks. drove it home. the mechanics where amazed. they should of offered me a job.

only problem is that the motor wont rev over 4K. it is acting like a rev limiter. not sure yet what to do about it.

I wouldn't touch that swap with a tenfoot pole

LATE EEC-V into a gen1 truck?

well, this project is a wrap. it is 100% complete and i will be taking it to baja very soon.

been putting a lot of street miles on it making adjustments making sure it will be worthy.

still have a few more things to do/check out like, put my new JBA headers on, get some CARB approved vapor hose, find out why i have a code for both my banks are running lean and figure out the Speedo thing.
