sport trac to a ranger

Here are some updated shots of the box I made and a few other things.
I got a new cross member that hold the drive shaft center bearing and finish up the mount for the 2 (not one) but 2 charcoal cans with the valve and filter that goes with it from the tank to the engine.
Had to “clearance” the engine “X” over tubes for the intake.

Could you mount a computer fan and duct some inside air through the computer box for cooling?

update: finished the computer box. sealed and powder coated.
finished the fuel cell top plate.
finished the dual charcoal can mounting plate.
finished the engine "X" brace and re-powder coated.
re-built all the shocks.
my number came up on the list to send it in for a complete re-wire job from head lamp to tail lamp. leaves next sat. to get started by JAX race wiring. he does a lot of very high end hot rods (100 + K). goal is to have it wired up by the end of jan.

then i need to pick up where i left off my "to do" list like: new sub box, make a headliner, add more sound proofing, re-paint the inside.

???? i got the yellow top because i got tired of bying red tops and having them take a dump when in baja. i have not had a problem with the yellow top yet and planning on changing the other soon.

yellow means deep cycle right?

whatyou use for a y pipe an exhaust thanks

yep. it has slitly less cranking power (dont matter with me because its a stock motor in sunny ca any ways) and can be drained down many times and be re-charged. whats not to like. have had it on the truck for 3 years now and many trips to baja with out any problems.

now the red tops have a higher cranking but they cant take many discharges. and when they go, they go and never want to come back. this = sucks in my book. like i said, i had to buy a new one just about every year.

most everyone i know in the offroad racing sene have or are switching over or going with some other type but not the red's.

well, being in the great F-ck up state of california, i am using the stock "Y" with the 2 cats, then into 2 more cats, after that may be more cats just to piss off the smog ref.

man, this state has really gone to the hell hole. half the people are so buys trying to get or keep there Mercedes in there Mcmansions that they don’t even know what they are voting for and the other half are just plain dumb.

i likewise run a yellow top, i was just curious what your reasons were

So how much street does this see? Cause if you were only ever on the sand then you wouldnt have to smog, correct? (I am asking cause I dont know Cali smog rules)

in ca. i can get a OHV (green sticker) license that lets me trailer it out to a offroad place. you don’t need to smog it every 2 years like a regular vehicle. if it is made/built in a professional shop, it does have to conform to smog laws before it leaves the shop to a customer but it will not be check again (as for now until the CARB Nazi take it to the next level).

i drive my truck to and from all the races i go to. i don’t own a tow rig or trailer. this truck is my "hotrod" of sort. it is a second vehicle for me when needed and to cruise around in also. because of this, it gets its share of street time. that’s why i have the hotrod air system, nice sound system and lots of sound deadening.

besides, it would be to easy to just hack up a truck for offroad only use.

ok, so my motor swap is about over and i am working on the air intake and need some help. i am looking for a adaptor for the mass air flow. my stock one has the 4 bolts on one side that bolts up to the stock box. i am looking for something to bolt on to it with a tube coming out of it.

i am having a hard time finding one. i know some one has some. they have them for many others. i found the one that replaces the stock holder for the mas flow with 3" tube on both sides but it is not CARB legal and i am trying to get this through the state ref. http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/d...=P1135867996W43b3f85c7ab9e&gan=1&apwid8gbn92B

looking for one like this, http://www.shopwiki.com/Spectre+9705+MAF+Adapter+Mass+Air+Flow+Sensor+Adaptor i need the bolt on part to be 3 1/2 x 2 7/8 (stock sport trac)
