I am looking for a tool that will more easily remove my plastic dust cap (not sure of the exact name, its black plastic with a lot of little locking tabs on the inboard side) off of the end of my front axle (IFS), but have been unable to get one or have someone tell me where I might possibly get one.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

OTC makes one. You should be able to order one at any parts store.
The alignment shop I go to says not to use a screwdriver, The ford tech that I work with says a screwdriver is the only tool. I've used the OTC tool set, It takes a few times to get used to it but, then it is easy. Much easier than a screwdriver.

Yeah, I thought I would be able to go to an auto store and get one, but all I got was a deer in the headlight stare followed by "uh...you might be able to get that from store X." only to get the same response from them.

I'll check into the OTC tool. Do you know the name of it?

I'll have to see if I have old jigsaw blades laying in the shop.

Thanks for the help!

I've always just used a screwdriver at work even tho we've got all the Rotunda specialty tools handy.
