Hello,
I have found out recently that when the previous owner of my truck had the tranny replaced, they neglected any sound insulation above the tranny (Under/Around Shifter)..

Is this somthing I can buy from a parts store? if so what is it called? or is there anything I can do to shut it up myself.. its an annoyance more then an issue lol

Thanks

The earlier trucks had a hunk of foam that fitted into the bezel
for the shift boot the later ones only had a rubber sheet.

an auto parts? No.

Dealer? trust me you don't want to even ask.

Junkyard...

Which trans do you have?

I used some left over R-13 insulation I had. I just stuffed as much as I could fit all around the top of the transmission. It dampened the noise and keeps the heat from the exhaust from coming in the cab. Its a cheap fix and should last.
