Soooo, i'm thinking of getting a rifle.

Yes, a long heavy rifle with a low magazine capacity... not the best weapon for HD.

What ever you do don't go down to Big5 and get a gun unless its a 870 shotgun. Get a quality rifle from your local gun store.

AK or SKS. Both are cheap to feed, light weight and enough punch for criminals or wild game. I have an SKS and have taken down full grown cattle with it. Very effective and intimidating
