I would be worried about any other fixes this guy has done to the truck judging by the obvious handy work or lack there of. be sure and look it over good for other hack jobs he may have done to it.

they did put a long bed on it. they said they drilled new holes and attached it, How bad is that?
As long as it runs good and everything works good, you could put a short bed back on it for a few hundred dollars and have a decent truck. I would check the holes they made in the frame first, as long as they are nice clean drilled holes they would be easy to fix, by welding them shut and grinding them smooth. But I would ask why they put the long bed on it, because it may have been wrecked.
As long as the frame is ok, it runs/drives good, and everything important works I would buy it and find a short bed to put on it.
You sound like a young guy if you get a clean truck your going to change it anyway.My focus would be not to fall in love and think if I could fix it and be happy with what I got into it.Plus you will know more when your done.

nah i was hoping for 18-20ish. is that too hard to ask for in a 4x4 4.0 tho? could i re gear to like 3.73s? or 3.55's..i'll mostly be doing just on-road driving..i don't know anywhere to go off roading yet.
