I would be worried about any other fixes this guy has done to the truck judging by the obvious handy work or lack there of. be sure and look it over good for other hack jobs he may have done to it.

they did put a long bed on it. they said they drilled new holes and attached it, How bad is that?

It's pretty bad haha. I would wait till something halfway decent turns up for sale lol

That is halfway decent.... based on what i've seen. Anything for a good price ( 1998 4x4 3.0 auto w/ a blown motor for 600) always is sold that day.

As long as it runs good and everything works good, you could put a short bed back on it for a few hundred dollars and have a decent truck. I would check the holes they made in the frame first, as long as they are nice clean drilled holes they would be easy to fix, by welding them shut and grinding them smooth. But I would ask why they put the long bed on it, because it may have been wrecked.

He said there was a flatbed on it and he didn't like the flatbed.

yeah that's what i figure, it's a good starter truck and something i can tinker a little with.

You sound like a young guy if you get a clean truck your going to change it anyway.My focus would be not to fall in love and think if I could fix it and be happy with what I got into it.Plus you will know more when your done.

Yeah i'm 17 and I've only really drive either a small car or a big truck and i want something in between. I want something i can get cheap and parts aren't going to kill me with as well, and hopefully it will get decent MPG ( He said it has 4.10's so idk about that!) and yeah this seems like a good truck, i can mess with the bed and if it doesn't work out how i want, i can either get a flatbed or just put another short bed on it. seems like once i fix the major things wrong ( brake lines and wheel studs) it will be a good daily driver project.

nah i was hoping for 18-20ish. is that too hard to ask for in a 4x4 4.0 tho? could i re gear to like 3.73s? or 3.55's..i'll mostly be doing just on-road driving..i don't know anywhere to go off roading yet.

hahaha thats what i get with my 3 inch lifted and slightly modified 5 speed 4 banger. so good luck man....
