I had a 1992 2.3 that would do 38F at approximately 90F. Granted that was with a variable orifice tube running a full charge (by the label on the heater box) of 134a. All components were replaced except the pressure switch and the pop-off valve on the rear of the compressor. System was designed for R-12, but never used anything other than 134. Pressures typically ran between 20-40 on suction side (typical cyclic range) and 225 discharge.
50 sounds good to me i might now even get that lol need to check mine for referance now but i would leave it alone and check with proper gauges. Also i hope you installed the crush gaskets for the mating surfaces to the orifice tube and condensor.
I`m in Michigan and its a 90 plus day my air is running about 90 sitting still and feels like 93. Pulled on to the express way with windows down and back slider open a crack ( 370 air ) . Now I'm at a cool 90 still and sweat is some what evaporating from face but the back stays kinda damp. And I believe I have a leak near or under the a- arm . ( pits ) .
Glad you got your air fixed .My ride to work is 40 mins. In one area their is a new section of road with 5 lanes of new black top the thermometer yesterday was at 105 at the stop light stopped for 40 seconds.
