some ranger carnage this time.

Ah well it's not you guys, it's all TRS. I'm not offended in any way, just annoyed. It actuals seems the politics has tamed on here recently. I hope I didn't offend either of you guys with that pic.

Not much give in a rack and pinion steering. So when a huge force is applied in opposite of the giving force, something gives and brakes. In this case, it was the cast aluminum casing. But at least this shows the ball joints were stronger than the rest of the steering system.

a girl hit a parked car with just her right tire. it ripped the bead off the rim (tore the metal not the tire) broke the control arm, caliper, ripped brake line among other things. these are the only pics i got on my way out.

Puch! Were you the unlucky enough to have to fix it? If so, you need to save it for the shop's "Wall Of Shame!"

Oregon sounds like a dangerous place to drive.

It ain't the safest. I used to travel through Beaverland an a semi-regular basis doing long haul. One night on 84 I saw two trucks on their sides. One was a FedEx CustomCrit who was rubber-side up, one was an ABF who's rear trailer was leaning against a gaurd rail. Even more nuts, this was my first time driving in Oregon too!

Did I mention Cabbage Patch?

Only if you are a conservative. Everyone else is too oblivious to realize the danger.

Sounds a bit like Mass and Vermont.

Offend? I'da sigged it if it wasn't so big. I thought it was damn funny!

Hey MountainMike I was not say Conserative are High. I said that cause the northwest is known for its copious amount of weed. So it was far from a political comment. sorry if you thought it was.

We do have a lot of stoners...:icon_rofl:

My first time driving in Oregon I was 16 and with my family. I was slowing down with my blinker on while crossing a bridge (intersetion was right after the bridge) and got rear ended in the right rear of the car. The guy that rear ended me said he was trying to pass me. And I'm thinking "Where were you planning to pass? I was on a f'n bridge when you hit me."

Screw that. I'm pissed.

You talking Cabbage/Deadman on 84? If you are, try that bitch in the fog. You can't see 5 feet in front of you. Literally. Even worse in the snow/ice when foggy. Downright white knuckle-piss your pants-hope you don't get plowed by a semi-crying for momma-wishing for flat land freaky.

Other than that its ok. The curves are set to the point you can do 90 around them if you use all the lanes.

If you're not talking about that then I am just confused.

Oh.......ok then.

Well.....I am glad we got that straightened out. :stirthepot:

:offtopic: :threadjacked: :damnit1:  :icon_rofl: :icon_cheers:

Alright I am done now.

Yep. That's the sucker. I had a full load on and was going down in 7th gear (on a 10-speed tranny) with full jakes on. It wasn't foggy that day. Even so, looking down, it made me think.

I'm from NH (NOT some stinkin' flatlander!) have seen some wicked hills, but this one takes the cake.

I got my undergrad degree in La Grande and used to drive that hill all the time. You do get used to it after awhile. My sister in Law (little 4 foot tall desert Mexican) drives it everyday going to work in Pendelton.

It can be wicked at times. That stretch of 84 is supposedly the #1 closed interstate, from what I have been told, due to the ice and wind.
