TFI is Thick Film Ignition, it's just what Ford used for a stretch of time, it's known for it's issues at times, which is why I'm running the distributorless setup instead... didn't want to deal with it

The crank sensor maybe bad the sensor the sensor send the signal so the computer know what cylinder is at to fire spark hope this helps

Tfi systems dont have a crank sensor.
He said it is an 88, he said it has a distributor. Stop offering suggestions that apply to the 89+ EDIS system.

Check crank sensor it sends signal to computer to know what cylinder to fire spark on if sensor is completely bad will not send a signal. Good luck

You can pull the distributor if you can't get the screws out...there is an 11/16" bolt holding it down...you have to completely remove the bolt to get the distributor out of the hole...BUT...

There is a bit of a trick if you have to do that and can't remove the cap...the problem is the distributor rotates slightly when you lift it up and this can throw the timing off quite a bit if not inserted properly...but once you get the cap off you can tell where the rotor is pointing.

What you may want to do is put #1 piston at top dead center before removing the distributor...that way when you put the dizzy back you can align the rotor to point at the #1 plug...

You may be able to drill out the screws but this could result in damaging the threads...
