and it's being used in the only way a dodge engine is useful: as ballast.

it was a magnum, rings were shot because my sister in law ran it with a dead water pump till it shut down, brother got it started back up and drove the truck home, but there was just about zero compression and a crapload of smoke.

Those bottom ends are cake to re-machine to tolerance.. there is so much meat in all of the right places! What are your plans for it?

Yeah definitely a Magnum...

I use my Dodge engine to make HP and TQ :thefinger:

Finally! A job Dodge can do better than Ford!

Yeah, more metal = more value at a scrapyard. :icon_thumby:

Seriously, one of the few things Dodge could ever get right was their engines.

I'll admit that Dodge does make a decent engine (that does not take into account the 3.0L V-6). I was just set up too perfectly for that joke.

The reasons I steer clear of Dodge is because of the front end issues and junk transmissions. Ford makes an engine that is just as good, and front ends and transmissions that are far better.

actually, if i was gonna v8swap a ranger, i think i'd use a dodge v8, looks like it would fit without slicing up the airbox.

Id take a dodge 3.9 mag over a 4.0. I was blown away when my dad pulled an full size semi truck (without the trailer) up a hill with his old non mag dakota. Gets 25 mpg.

got 50 bucks for it as scrap, haha.

damn.. thats a shame about the only chrysler product i have any love for is the 318 / 360 engines.. the rest is crap and i hate working on them.. although working on a dodge is better than working on any import especially the Korean ones gaww...
