Is Ford's build and price correct? Are they not offering a Regular Cab 4x4, or a 4cyl 4x4? (Please no smarta$$ remarks on why would you want one of these) Or would these have to be custom ordered? Seems kind-of weird to me...

no they do not offer a 4cyl 4X4. havent for a while as far as i know. im not sure about the regular cab issue.

Theres a guy on RPS who has a 4cyl 4x4, I think its around 01-03, so maybe it was only that generation that had them (and previous). But yeah, on the build and price you can't select Reg Cab 4x4 at all.

Maybe my info is wrong, but I have always been under the impression that somewhere around '94, they quite selling 4cyl 4wd rangers, and if you wanted 4wd, you had to get a v6.

Yeah, you may be right, I went back and looked and his truck was actually a 4x2... Sounds like if I wanted a 4cyl 4x4 it would take an extensive amount of aftermarket stuff...

my brother in law had a 2000 ext cab 4cylinder 4WD, if I recall correctly it was a sport model

Yeah, interesting... maybe you can custom order it?

It's a shame that Ford's taking away the customizablity from their trucks.

Ranger, you did read that right. On the upside, at least you can still get a stick shift!

Yeah I agree. I think that a 4cyl ranger with a supercab or regular cab and 4x4 would be a very good daily driver. Good fuel mileage and then you have 4wd when you need it... thats my situation now, but I have the 4.0l engine. Haven't done a fuel mileage test on it, but I'm getting roughly 10mpg, yuck!

Don't test your luck, sooner or later we won't be able to get manual pickups! :-/

You sure couldn't for '09... Looks like too many people bitched lol.

I still want a damn reg cab though, which it still won't let you. :annoyed:

4wd???? Where?

4wd???? Where?
Ohhh, i thought you just mean a regular cab, 4x4 or 4x2, lol, yeah, I'm going to assume no-where... I just emailed Ford to see if a 4x4 was available with a regular cab, so we'll see if its a custom thing, or if it isn't even available at all...

The closest thing I've found to a 4x4 Regular cab, is this:
2006 Ford Ranger Sport Pickup Truck 4X4

They want 16 grand for it, which I think is pretty far out considering how basic of a model it is... granted it has about 50k, but still...:shok:

something aint right with 10mpg out of a 4.0 unless you have larger tires and a lead foot:icon_confused:

I have 245's and no, I don't have a lead foot, the truck shifts into the final gear at 45-50mph without any effort, and I don't step on it to get up to speed... You know, the tank is 19.5 gallons, and I can get about 50 miles or 60 on a quarter tank (just guessing, still need to use a whole tank yet) so... :S

**Edit, had a typo, I have 245's NOT 265's.
