snow tires

Thinking if buying a set of snow tires for the B2. I have tried the M/Ts and the A/Ts and they have gotten scary at times. Time to get equiped with the proper tire for the weather. Any suggestions?

One, studs don't do much. All season tires are just fine, have them put studs in just so you don't pee your pants. Driving on snow is just another skill level to be learned, as well as driving on ice. If you can't control your vehicle, it doesn't matter if you have snow tires or not. I live in Snow. Currently my driveway has snowberms taller than me (I'm 5ft).

People always say "if you live in Alaska you better have a 4X4 truck." But my 2wd ranger is my lover. I drift like BAMF in the snow and ice.

Winter driving is just a skill to be learned. Have fun dude, tires and all.

An all season tire will not hold a candle to a dedicated winter tire. Once the temps drop down around freezing the rubber compound on a winter tire stays soft while an all season will not.

I've been really impressed by both the Arctic Claws

And the Goodyear Duratrac

I run the arctic claws on my ranger and the duratracs on my f350. Both sets are studded.

Michelin X ice 2. But as was previously mentioned, any dedicated snow tyre will out perform anything else when the temperature goes down.

i liked firestone winterforce. Good price and did very well in 2 feet of snow without using 4x4.

Hankook iPikes are awesome snow tires. We sold a crap load of them where I used to work, and everyone liked them. I've run Mastercraft Glacier Grips and they were really good too. Also, when they were significantly cheaper than a new tire, I would run winter tread recaps. They seemed to go just as good if not better than a new winter tire. Unfortunately now they are harder to find, and the prices have gone up to the point where they aren't that great of a deal.

Bridgestone Blizzaks are the shiznit. Firestones are pretty good and are fairly inexpensive. I've had both on different vehicles. Just got a second set of Blizzaks for the wife's Taurus and it goes as good in snow as my truck and stops better.

I just got the try out my wrangler duratac tires in the recent snow here. Probly a few inches and I have to say I was very impressed. Only had 2 wheel drive with no weight in the bed and it handled the snow just fine. Braking and taking off was very good. I bet it takes over 2 feet of snow to stop these. Mine are 33x12.5
