Hello,

I have a 1993 Ford Ranger - 2.3 liter - 4 cylinder

I took the smog test today and failed. They said that my MEAS reading was too high. The highest reading aloud is 69 and my truck read at 499. That there was too much unused to gas coming out of the tail pipe.

Does anyone know anything about what this is and a possible fix?

Thank you in advanced!

Too much fuel in the exhaust pipe comes from a few different things

Bad plugs/wires
Faulty o2 sensors
Leaking or plugged injectors.
A bad fuel pump
Or a bad mass air flow meter

Let's start with the basics. When was the last time a tune up was done on the truck?
