Small problem need ideas

Ok while I know how it is supposed to come off I cannot get it to budge...

I am talking about the front input shaft seal on the m5od transmission. It is still in the truck engine has been removed from the truck. I have tried to pryon it but cannot get a bite, I have also attached a chain and tried to pull it with a ratchet strap and cannot put enough pressure on ratchet strap to get it to budge. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have a dent puller slide hammer that I have used on stubborn seals before. Drill a small hole in the seal... thread the screw on the slide hammer into the hole and give it a few pulls of the hammer.

That would work but seal goes in from the back and the cover needs to be removed to replace the seal and the cover is what I cannot remove...

You didn't specify that in your previous post....

I've never torn in to an M5OD but it's entirely possible that the only way to replace that seal is to remove all of the guts.

I'd be worried that the rear bearing is bad, allowing the shaft to have too much play, which cooked the seal. You'll want to check the play in both the input shaft and the output shaft.. > https://www.therangerstation.com/forums/index.php?threads/leaky-front-seal-on-m5od.47462/

Replacing the seal because I am there. Engine is out for rebuild and clutch will be replaced as well. I have rebuilt the trans already and must have siliconed that cover on better than I thought... Lol
Just need alternative removal methods.

I have tried a steering wheel puller and it would not budge it

Take two bolts, same thread as the slave bolts, and run them into the slave cylinder holes. It will pop the cover off.

Adsm never had to do that before however that was what I did
