im in the middle of installing my skyjacker lift.. went to install the front shocks.. and brand new out of the box the upper and lower mount bushings are tearing apart in my hands? anyone else have this problem? the only word that comes to mind to describe them is chewy.. or soft..they just tear apart when u scratch your nail on them... i purchased the lift about a year ago and just got to installing it recently.. but all the parts have been kept in cool dry place.. no chemicals have touched them..

Theyre suppose to be polyurethane....I have never seen polyurethane do that. Maybe get ahold of the vendor you bought them off of and see if they'll do something about it...

Agreed.
I've had bushings do just the opposite with time (getting all hard and crumbly), but never that.

i had that happen to my skyjacker sway bar endlink's bushings too. Not sure but i didnt use them for like you said a year and when i did they were basically a huge gummy bear just like you described. weirdest thing, probably a bad batch of polyurethane or something it shouldnt do that....it would squeez out if they were on my truck and they did that.

4x4Junkie, my radius arm bushings are doing what you described, they squeek, are are starting to get dry and crumbly after only a year and a half. Am I supposed to grease em orsomthing? They are Kragen brand, paid 28 bucks per side.

I guess it wouldn't hurt, although I've never greased mine, and they're going on 12 years old now (mine are Energy Suspension brand). I tend to think black ones last longer than colored ones though (the ones I had disintegrate were red).
