Skid Plate

Did the 2001 Off Road come with a front skid plate. I know the 2002's did. Reason I am asking, I bought the truck with a brush guard. I have been told that you had to remove the skid plate to mount it. I have since removed.

Now if it did not come with a factory skid plate, can I add one from a 2002?

I don't have an exact answer... but... if there is a will.... there is a way

I don't have an answer on whether '01 came with one or not, but since the suspension (and I suspect bumper & frame too) didn't change from '01 to '02, I doubt you'd have to do anything more than drill some holes to mount it.

Ford parts shows them listed, for sure the fx4 is listed, seen plenty on e-bay ( some even say ranger ) seen some new ones & a couple of used ones & plenty of aftermarket. For images of different types try typing : images of 2001 ford ranger in search bar. ( google ? ). or 2002. like 4x4 junkie says you may have to drill some holes.
