Side marker mod

Good afternoon guys -

So I came across an extra set of 06 side markers and headlights. Doing the headlight/side marker mod (blacking them out) and came across something while cleaning/prepping them.

If you use a Mr.Clean Magic Eraser on the chrome of the side markers it will take the chrome right off, leaving the plain black plastic. No need for spray paint! It took a little while (and a little scratching with a screwdriver) to get the corners nice, but it worked!

I was gonna try this wit hthe headlights, but realized it wouldnt work cause the headlight backing is white. Oh well, have to buy some spray paint anyway.

Try soaking them in bleach for a few minutes... It will take the cheap chrome right off.

Actually, you're pretty close to me. I am looking for a 4.10 8.8 Posi rear to put in my 01 Edge. If you happen to come across any or know anyone that is getting rid of one with not a ton of miles please DM me

I'll keep my eyes open... all I've got right now is a spare 3.73 Explorer axle.

I've got both a 31 spline and a 28 spline Detriot Locker that I'll be putting up for sale soon (both for 8.8s), if that helps.

Might as well do the alternating blinker mod. One of my favorites.
When the left front blinker is on, the side marker blinks off, and vice versa.

ATF will do the same thing I believe. I know guys soak plastic parts in it to remove paint and coatings to get everything off before a repaint. No hard labor involved lol.
