Should I get the rear axle too?

I yanked this D44 front off of an 81 Cherokee. All that was missing was the hub lock on one side. I wanted to know If I should go back and get the rear axle. If I pull it myself, it will only cost 75$. Is there a better axle I should look for?

The axle in pic is a 610139-6, 3.54. I did not look at the rear when I was taking this one, so I am unsure what it is. I could not find a reference to look up what it might have been. I want to do a front and rear axle swap...

The rear my be a AMC 20, not sure.If you have an 8.8 I would just stick with that.

BEFORE you "stick" with an 8.8, how wide are the flares on that Cherokee: around 3", or bigger? The reason is that the axles came in 2 widths- 60" and 65". The rear would be a Dana44, just like the front. As for the missing lockout, any of the 1/2 ton truck axles will have the same lockout, along with most of your 3/4 ton trucks. The 3.54 gears are really common in these axles, all though you "could" get them with 3.73 gears, and special ordered 4.10s'. A good thing about this axle is that the parts are fairly cheap to freshen or rebuild, as the knuckles out are 1/2 ton Chebby stuff.
