Last I Checked we are still a Free country. Offer them whatever you want. IMHO the first truck you posted is worth less then $1,000
I would agree with that with exception that used car/truck prices have actually climbed due to cash for clunkers and various other recession related-related market factors (ie, financially strapped customers unable to get car loans, forced into buying used vehicles, etc).
2.3LRNGR, have you been able to spend some quality time crawling around under the truck, examining the fluids, etc? You might have a diamond in the rough here if you can get a good price. I'd like you to get under $2000. Any cash you save can go towards parts and fluids, and parts are cheap for our trucks. Are you capable of doing your own repairs? If not, I'd look elsewhere.
Here's what I've done recently to my truck for about $450-$500:
* Clutch master and slave
* Leaf Spring hangers and shackles (all six parts) + hardware
* Energy Suspension leaf spring bushings
* Power steering hoses and pressure switch, new Type F fluid
* Serpentine belt
* Fuel Filter
* One-piece driveshaft swap
* Exploder instrument cluster swap (with tach)
* Shocks (all 4)
* New gas tank straps
* POR-15 for underbody
* Drain and fill M5OD & shift rail plug upgrade
* Replaced brake fluid and coolant
* Fixed P1443 Evap code
