So .. back at it again. Over the colder parts of December I had to repair the ignition actuator.. total pain in the butt. It was needed badly.
Wile doing the repairs I tore up the plastic cover for the column. But I did gease down the bearings and moving parts using LuderPlate grease, Well see how that works out.

Yesterday I had to replace some bolts on the 2.3L exhaust (another repair needed badly)
And a buddy of mine brought me the bolts for a 5.0 mains. I needed one bolt with the stud to mount the pickup tub too for the rear slump pan on my 289.

I went ahead and ordered the Shock mounts for the rear end, I hope to have it all welded up this weekend.

The brakes went out a couple of weeks ago so I replace all the brakes up front. the rear brakes will be disk breaks soon with the rear swap.

Also collected some speakers to put in the doors and a 10 inch sub wolfer, My kids bought me a Dual head unit that will replace my Realistic cassette radio. I still dislike this dash the dam thing is ugly!

A second gen dash goes in with very little mods, unless you want to go to a dash from the old 40's to 50's car/truck dash, then there is a lot of mods to be done.

Today I pulled the parts I wanted out to clean and paint... stripping, sand blast the rust, primer and paint....
Here's the top side of the motor in mock up

The oil pan is painted cherry the color I plan on painting the tins on top.
the intake is a 84 Ford truck, i think it had a Variable Venturie Carb. I'm using the 67 2 barrel instead.

I will make a adapter to allow the FE valve covers to mount to the windsor heads.

and for the FE coolant tank will need mods as well.
I have the thermostat housing from a 78 Mustang II. I will trim the curved part of the FE tank and the mounting bracket off... using a piece of hose to connect the two!

I've been shopping for large bumpers to adapt to the back of the truck this one was calling my name at the local you pull it!

Another look at the freshly painted oil pan.

What I don't have Pic's of are the new Poly cab mount bushings this lifted the cab another 1/2 inch.

OK just a note to all early ranger owners... I love the new cab bushings! Honestly I didn't expect much, I'm impressed with most of the squeaks are gone and the ride feels less harsh.

I haven't been able to do much since I've torn my other Bicep, and I have surgery in two weeks. So I have to have a kid help me when they are available. To day in between rain storms I was able to replace the turn signal switch. That thing was driving me nuts!!!

The old lever went limp and quit working... so hopefully this will make the local Police happy!
