Shop Truck

Bout dang time. I have some more gen 1 parts if you need them.

any updates to this? i eager to see that motor sittin in there and how it turns out

The rear view is getting a little haggard so I'm thinking of getting a rear view mirror with a compass or temp gauge.

I picked a big farm bumper off a full sized truck to protect that Bronco gas tank... $15 at the local yard...

That's a heavy SOB the "U" shaped metal in the bumper is 5/16 steel

Mock up! it fits the gap...

And I'll have my License Plate mounted to something other than zip ties!
Trim it down with a little paint...

Trimming the Bumper Down to fit

I will box the ends to keep things clean

Both trucks have janky mirrors... I kept the better of the two ..looking to replace the one for the Shop Truck!

A little off topic.. my 87 headlights work great.. but one of them is full of water and still burning bright! I plan to change it to projectors like the shop truck.

I'm interested in how you bumper cut turned out. Did you have to change the mounting?

I bought the wrong cutting disk... so I had to wait to get some more to work on the bumper reto fit.

I'm going to test fit it, then I will finish the ends by capping them off.

The mounts are a little over on inch too wide. They go right into the shackles.
My idea is to shim them in to match the frame. Possibly using LARGE nuts welded to the bumper as spacers.
Then I'll have to make the mounts, I'm wanting the bumper as tight as stock or tighter.
I had to pick up a tractor tire the other day so I can mow the 80 acres...

In the Parking lot of a fruit stand near the Tire store I had some mods made to the other ranger buy a F250 that backed into me.

Today I trimmed on the bumper more and test fitted... looks like I'm done cutting now time for mounts to be made... I settled for 62 inches wide.. I'm dropping it a inch in a half lower than the pic.

While doing that I was mentoring my son while doing his first brake job on a 2002 Explorer.. rears were shot... he did a great job!

U got every bit of life out of those brakes!!

Test fit today before welding and mounts.. I'm pleased with the fit.

I'll center is with the mounts.. now I have some measurements to make those with...
