I have a 84 beater POS that I never really put much into.
84, 2.3 4 speed short bed, plane jane..With a dents in almost every surface!
Now I have a vision!
It started with tire from a full sized ford truck 235/75 15 on some early 1980's steal wheels from a full sized Mercury.

The Hubcaps and the Red rims are my muse.
Once the truck sported a 79 Mustang turbo motor But it passed but not without chewing a few TK 4 speeds up.

I had Issues with the gas tank not long ago... while I had the bed off some 3 inch body lift blocks landed in my lap, the tires rubbed a little so the body lift was installed...

The floors are in bad shape and I'm collecting Scrap steal to make some bumpers.
The grill is new. the light bar is made from old futon frames. the lights are Harbor Freight tractor lights. I have Bed frame scrap on the bed rails and built my own removable ladder racks.

i like those wheels...gives it the nostalgia look

Those rims do complement the truck and go nicely with it.

this is the Drivers side..its worse than the Pic shows.
If I don't get the new floor pan replacements I'll end up using 1/8 diamond plate.

I picked up these peep mirrors

I feel the lines of the truck need to be soften up, and a good way to do this is to radius
the sharp corners...

I'm thinking about trimming the door as marked.

You know, that's a slick idea. the red steelies look good on it. Maybe some clssic pinstriping, a nice logo on the door, and a billit grill.

One of the ideas for the truck is to use it for engine recovery... Picking up those heavy things I can't lift my self.
The bed sports the light bar and latter Rack... and soon one of these,

Hmmm... I see flat black paint, lowering, and some pinstriping in store... Maybe a scuffed up shop logo...

Definetly subscribing...

I really wouldn't chop the corner of your door there. I don't think its going to accomplish anything in smoothing out the lines of the truck.

when I think clean nostalgic gen1 i think:

the stamped F O R D tailgate

billet grille

Maybe shave emblems/handles if your into that

maybe engraved glass

flat black, chrome, red and white pinstripes

the peep mirror is definately a nice clean touch

Glad we are on the same page... Lol

Well I agree.. but I'm not lowering the truck. I need it as a truck and i drive over tall grass at times . I'm not into wheeling off road but i really like the trucks stance as it is with the tires.
I have the paint for the truck but I don't have a garage to paint it in. Gloss white roof (No AC truck) and Blitz black body with red and white pen striping. Maybe Louvers in the hood. I already have some Ranger emblems on the truck from the mid 60's.
I don't like any Billet grills I've seen so far. But I have a Idea for round head lights and a different grill insert.

Another mod will be a Visor like the cars from the 20'-30's had out of steal.

Well winter has stopped everything but Driving the truck.
Since I don't have a shop to work in so nothing new till today.
I stopped into Auto zone for no reason at all and saw a goofy looking gear shift knob. A green Skull, perfect!

So tomorrow I'll go to the tractor supply and get a 2 foot piece of round and make the shift handle longer, a little taller than the dash.

Driving in traffic with the little peep mirrors sucks, pulling a trailer with them is just make me look stupid! So I'm planning to reproduce the mirrors of a base model 52 for truck with a 5 or 6 inch mirror on a simple tapered stand.

I need to locate a vintage looking stearing wheel.

I'm still pumped about getting this project off the ground.
