Have you checked the heater hoses going to the firewall?

check the condesate drain,should be on the firewall near the oil filter.if coolant is leaking there you may have a leak on the heater core.fwiw.

no i have not...seone told me to check the passenger side floor to see if there is anti freeze under the carpet..but there was not..is that heater hose realated to checking the passenger floor?

could i get a pic of the hose that the one guy is talking about and whre the other person said the leak can be...thanks for all the help guys...this is my first truck so it would be a real upset to findo utit is somebad like a cracked block or something...im not afraid af paying 200 dollars for the part im more afraid of it being something serous and having to dump the truck

can anyone help please..and its a slow drip not like a stream or anything

there should be two hoses for the heater going to the fire wall,and they shoud be equipped with hose clamps to tighten them to the inlet and outlet of the heater.if one or both were loose enough to leak,or the hoses were cut or worn through enough to leak,the coolant may drip down.could be this only happens when coolant gets up to temp.

Your heater core is under the dash, but if it is leaking your floor might not be wet. My 94 Ranger (I imagine your 93 is the same) has a plastic tray under the heater core, with a plastic tube thru the firewall. When my heater core leaked the antifreeze ran thru the tube and out onto the ground at the right rear of the engine.

Get a good light and watch your motor while it's running. Look for the highest point at which you can see antifreeze. Wiggle your heater hoses around -- I once had one where you couldn't see the leak until you wiggled it. Sometimes while you are driving, the antifreeze can be blown around so that it makes it hard to tell where the leak really is.

thats the condesate drain i was refering to.

ok so i have to check the two hoses and wiggle them and see if it is coming from that area..if is this likely the problem?likei said its ust a steady drip..and it does it while it runs and for a minute after it runs then it seems to stop..it was sitting f or a while at a dealer .and it wasnt leaking there but once i got it to my house i started it like 8 times to make sure it was runing right and shit...so wat do u guys think

i don't know the 4.0,perhaps a rbv tech advisor can tell you if you have a freeze plug near the oil filter.

wat is rbv...so wats the hances its omsething easy such as a heater hose

I believe there is a core plug there, but honestly, dribbling coolant can come from anywhere in front, including the water pump snout, front cover, thermostat, and heater hoses (at the intake manifold/water pump ends as well as the heater core). Even at idle, the cooling fan can blow it back.

I agree that a careful inspection is called for. Note that it may be much, much easier to see the side of the engine with the wheel well removed.

ranger based vehicle.chances are good,just need to look it over real good.

rbv=Ranger Based Vehicle

It could be your heater hoses leaking, or it could be the forementioned condensor drain, You will just need to get a flashlight, get under there and look for where it is leaking.
