SenorNoob's '88 Ext Cab "Build"

I had to get parts out like that. What you thought was going to be a quick fix usually doesnt go that way. Atleast it is out and ready for the next stage.

Transfer case shifter is fixed. I spent 2 hours studying it at work. Then the boss came in, looked at it for about 30 seconds and flattened it in the vice and said go try that. With the slot cut out about 1/4 inch it works better than it ever did on the 1350. Very smooth.

It's easier when it isn't your money involved.

Ain't that the truth. Now I can go on to other projects. Like the exhaust that's leaking again, or the barely functional parking brake, or the skid plate I still haven't addressed, or removing rivets for the lift kit...

My parking brake barely works. The way mine hangs down under the cab needs to be corrected. It is on the list to get fixed. I find the issue with mine I will let you know, maybe it is same problem you are having. Is the way your cables attached to the frame correct? I took these pictures off of a salvage truck for a reference for me. Maybe this could help you.

I have the disc explorer rear so my parking brake is a little different, but should be functional. It does work at the very end of the pedal travel. There is a lot of slack in the front cable. The pedal only returns about 1/3 of the way. I can reach under the cab and pull the cable to make it return all the way. I do have a spare pedal assembly... Just gotta figure it all out.

Edit: I expected my speedometer to be off with the new transfer case. They're supposed to have different drive gears. It is off a little, but not noticeable until 70 MPH. That said the odometer/gallons on the pump method gave me exactly 20mpg this tank.
