ok so i am planning on starting to gather supplies for a full width d44/9" sas. but i have a few questions. first off this might sound stupid but all the 9 inch rears i see installed have the diff centered, but my rear axle is offset. what so yall do for alignment on this? second, i need some ideas for lining up the coils with the fullwidths. i want the radius arms to line up under the frame and do not want to space the coil buckets from the frame. any advice, help, or pix would be greatly appreciated. i have done research but many of the good posts i find the pix have been removed

really its all pretty simple. Use your imagination, take measurments and find parts online. Ballistic Fab is a decent place to find pre-built buckets and tabs and all that good stuff.

my rear ford 9 is offset to one side also.
It's out of an older f-100. the good thing is that both the axles are the exact same length, so I only need one spare.
The bad is that the rear is offset and the driveshaft goes at an angle, but this hasn't had any effect on driveability and I haven't had any vibrations or other adverse effects.

It shouldn't be a problem unless your going with an extreme lift or something.

well, i messed this up myself and didnt notice it till someone asked.. had to fix it.... yes it is offset. it doesnt matter. and angle on a u joint is an angle whether is verticle or side to side...(people say u want tome to keep the needle bearings turning.... I pulled the axle apart (easier and lighter to work with) and measured from the brake mounting surface in to make sure they were equal.

thanx. im picking up my axles next sturday! im sure i will have lots more questions but then at least ill be able to provide pix

i decided i am going to use 5.5 in lift coils. which year coils should i be looking for? what degree c bushings should i use on the radius arms? i plan on extending the radius arms to line up with the frame. i also need some ideas on a trans crossmember so the radius arms will go past the crossmember. can any1 help me out?

Ballistics adjustable coil buckets should work good with the full-width axles, they pushed the coils out to far on my EB SAS, about 3".

I can't really help with the 9", mine's custom cut, and centered.

5.5" coils and 7deg bushings seem to be what everybody is running, It's what I got.

As for the crossmember, use the stock one if your not using the 78-79 bronco mounts.

Also, lil FYI, if your looking for flex, extended radius arms, w/ rubber c-bushings. Poly bushings should be used if it is a daily driver or you make one of the arms wristed(really flexy).

If ur using stock arms use the poly bushings..... Although I heard rubber flex more..... If ur going extended... Use Johnny joints. Not heims, they are made to absorb shock

alright thanx guys. so would it be better to buy bronco coil buckets for 40 plus shipping or buy the adjustable ones from ballistic for 65? are they that much better?

i used the heavy duty early bronco ones,, they were no where near 40 bucks... :icon_rofl:

A debate between the stock and the ballistic... ide go ballistic there stuff is usually top notchh,,,, ide get brackets to mount the johnny joints in, and also there kit to imboard the chevy leaf,, its set u back but u will be happy when it comes.

i picked up my axles today and started to disassemble them. i cant get the bolts out that hold the radius arms to the axle. anyone have any ideas?

which bolts, the 4 that clamp them? just use a breaker bar and they should come out.

yeah the ones that clamp them. i am kinda nervous though because the threads that stick out the back look pretty messed up. and i have already broken a bolt for the coil cup when i removed those from the radius arm tops

these are pretty big bolts, you probably wont break one. Do you have air tools? if so use a 1/2" impact. if not.. breaker bar.

still no luck on the radius arms but i got the 9" all tore down
