Well I figured I would finally make a build thread after being on here for awhile now and starting to actually do some real work to it. I bought the truck on December 5, 2005 with about 84,000 on it. It was my first vehicle, it took a long time to find a 4x4 manual trans ranger and I had to have a manual trans. I guess I will list of the mods the best I can and then on to the pics. The truck is a 99 Mazda B3000 with the flex fuel 3.0.

First thing was a set of 31 in goodyear mtr’s on the stock wheels, I don’t have any pics of it on the stock wheels. Next was a set of cragar black d windows.

Then the day I got my license I got a westin light bar and some KC daylighters.

Next I discovered the world of train horns that people have been putting on truck, so I got a train horn kit that I thought was awesome, it had a small compressor and a 1 gallon tank. It was loud but the comp eventually broke and the horn was falling apart from all the salt they put on the roads. The horn was mounted in front of the passenger side rear tire in the fender well, and the comp and tank behind the seats. I also got some white faced overlays for the gauges.

It stayed this way for awhile and I did some light wheeling at places I would just find off the side of the road. I did make a trip up to yankee lake outside Youngstown Ohio once and that was enough of that place. I like mudding but not all the clean up after. Eventually the mtr’s wore out and I got a set of duratrac’s which I love. Like many I got fed up with the electric tcase not always working so I got a manual 1354. Twin sticks FTW

I wanted to have a full size spare so I made a custom rear bumper with a tire swing, its made out of 3/16 plate and 1.5 dom. My original pivot was ok for awhile but it eventually started to give out so I redid it with a piece of 1.5 in solid dom and 2 in quarter wall dom around it.

Redone

I thought I would never crank the torsion bars but I finally did after I bought a set of chevy shackles.

Custom Tcase skid made from 3/16 plate.

Since having the twin sticks my center console was useless, not that is was much better before lol. So I made one out of wood and covered it in fleece. I mounted my CB in the console too. Also I made a cheaper version of a hurst by just having a shaft like a hurst. After not having a train horn for awhile I started to build that back up again and got a 5 gallon tank, twin viar comperssors and a Nathan K3LA horn.

Somewhere along the line I decided I wanted to do a SAS and bought a 44 and 60 from a 76 f250. Last summer I realized I didn’t like the low pinion 44 so I bought a almost bare high pinion 44 out of a 78 f250. I will list my SAS parts I have collected later. 76 axles

Then I went to Bundy Hill for the first time last St. Patrick’s day and had a blast and didn’t break anything but killed my pass side rocker.

After going to bundy the first time I realized I needed some sway bar disconnects, so I made some but don’t have any pics of the first setup. I didn’t like the original setup in the front so I remade them with small rod ends and now they are much easier to disconnect. Need to get some pics of these.

Back to Bundy Hill I went in October last year and got some great body damage and flex with the disco’s.

The door still looks the same as it did right after I did that, but I did get two doors off a ranger the same color so replace the drivers and make a half door out of the messed up driver and a half door out of the jyard pass. Next came head gaskets over the winter, I could smell the coolant in the exhaust and was losing it. The heads got almost completely rebuilt and I painted some stuff ford blue while it was apart.

I had been wanting to make a front bumper to match the rear as well as a front skid plate so I finally did it over spring break this year. Its made out of 3/16 plate with ¼ mounting brackets and a Warn vr10000 winch.

Then there was the annual trip to Bundy Hill on St. Patty’s day, but did kill my optima red top while winching out Plumcrazy, but had a great muddy time. I didn’t take one picture but I took a lot of video with my gopro. I upgraded to a optima yellow top and 130 amp alt a few weeks after.

I will get more pics of other stuff but I think that’s the life of my truck up till now. My Youtube and Photobucket

SAS Parts bought so far
• 78 hi pinion Dana 44 front
• 76 Dana 60 rear
• Ruffstuff 3 link kit for front
• Arb for the front
• Ruffstuff disk brake bracket for 60
• Drilled and tapper steering box from 78 150 thanks Seth (Plumcrazy)
• BC broncos 6.5 in lift coil springs
• Ruffstuff diff covers
I am probably missing some stuff, so deal with it lol.

Nice start on the build!! Can't wait to see more!

Thanks, I like your build too. I'm going with the same axles as you.

Ask and you shall receive. I bought the hp44 up at school and needed to get it home and didn't want to drive the truck so I put it in the back of my 12 focus hatch with the help of a forklift plus the coil springs for the SAS. I loaded the focus up again last weekend to bring material for my sliders and my summer wheels back to school with me. Two 76 in long pieces of 2x4 quarter wall tubing and some 1.5 dom plus 4 wheels.

Doors for half doors.

Steering box

MillerMatic 210 MVP with autoset

The with its summer wheels and tires on, just put them on today. Can't wait to get back to autocrossing this weekend.

A cookie to anyone who can figure out what school I go to.

Very nice. Are you cutting up the damaged doors for half doors or the good ones? I killed a drivers door and rocker today... oh well

The University of Toledo! And nice stuff you've got there. You gonna be done by the time the wellsville trip rolls around?

A cookie for you lol!!!!! I plan on having the sliders done by then but not the half doors. I still have to make a new battery box and hold down since my new yellow top is bigger. Need to put a new power steering pump on too. I plan on having it all done by then. Been busy with school and finals coming up in a week.

I used 2x4 for my sliders as well. I think it looks super clean compared to round toob.

I hauled all my slider material in my Civic coupe.lol 88" pieces of tube and a 6" channel bumper for the B2.

I had a couple ranger trannies, my steering linkage, my leaf springs, and my top chest of tools in my old Hatchback Civic. It didn't look squatted only because I had it lowered to much to begin with lol

awesome build, sub'd. keep goin!

Looks good. Any close ups of your bumper? I'd like to build one like that.

For the doors I am making the damaged driver door a half and replacing it with the jyard door. On the pass side I am just making the half out of the jyard one. I cut my rockers off lol.

These are the wheels I got for the SAS. Raceline beadlocks, 17x9.5

I can't imagine hauling everything in a coupe or sedan, the hatch makes it much easier. Check this out for all my pic of my bumper build.

Any help on this would be great, my pump isn't going to last much longer.

The Focus will be getting some upgrades soon, I bought thicker front and rear sway bars and a stiffer rear motor mount for it. They will probably have to wait till after the spring roundup though.
