Safari Pacific MX2 Build

I sent the broken shock out to Simon Morris to rebuild the shock and replace the damaged line. Once I got the fixed shock back I reinstalled both of them with the remote reservoirs hanging off the back. I'll leave them like so until I test out the new mounts. Once I feel comfortable the mounts are sturdy then the remote reservoirs will be remounted up higher.

I've also installed limiting straps on the front suspension. Still need to replace the worn out bump stops.

This truck is amazing been following it on pirate tryin to get on this site more due to owning a rbv now. Great job so far

As far as space is concerned, have you ever thought about cutting holes (calculated ones) in the bed and cab on in the floor, welding in a box that sits below the floor, and puting a door on top of the box, lever with the floor? Kind of like Chrysler minivan's Stow N' go setup, but without the in-floor seats.

That is an interesting idea, I'm going to have to add it to the rest in case I ever get to use it.

Thanks, I hope some day I can try the idea, but with my ranger right now...not likley, lol.
I wonder how one would get into the expedition business, thats got to be a dream job of sorts.

Departure is close, so I'm posting up all the little bits.

Yesterday I changed out the clutch along with replacing the pilot and through out bearings. When reinstalling the transmission I got the bright idea to try and do so without lifting with a jack. I actually pulled it off, though was pretty difficult.

Question for you, what did you use as a cab extension?
