I've had to finally accept the fact that I can no longer catch up with the rust on my beloved b2. The rust is faster than my ability to bend metal and weld it together. It will be fondly remembered by the many people it helped survive during the ice storm many years ago. It starts no matter what the weather and runs strong so I'm really sad to see it go. The oba and one or two of the other parts will live on in the explorer but many more good parts will just be lost. It's a shame that everyone is so far away, as I'm sure some of the stuff would be of use to someone.

:nono::stop: As long as you are not falling through the floor you can't let her go!!!!
If you are falling through the floor, grab up some road signs & use those! :headbang:

If that is not an option, load her up on a tow dolly & head south to Tn!:3gears:

As a tear rolls gently down my cheek. I felt bad when I finally had to put my old Ranger down. You watch them grow up, take their first steps, fall, get up and keep going. It's sad when they leave the house.

The carpet is the only thing that's holding the passenger seat in.

There's nothing left to attach anything to. The door openings are half an inch wider now than they should be. You can move the rear of the door opening in or out two or three inches. There's nothing left to attach anything to. boo hoo, wiping tear from face.

I think we should start a class-action lawsuit against all our respective states / providences for the immense amounts of damage done to our vehicles because of road salt.

Nothing pisses me off worse than salted roads. If people would just learn how to drive, there wouldn't be any need for it!

That sounds like a HONDA!

I've a fix for that, I've owned Many hondas. Short strand fiberglass. Not the cheap body fiberglass. Also lots of golf courses have used lawn mower blades they tend to just throw out since you can only sharpen them so many times.

They make for Great floor boards. with the fiberglass holding it all together!

Joking aside this really does work. and its stronger by far then the factory floor.

Can't you swap the body tub out for a Ranger cab or something? A Supercab would give back alot of the lost space, plus you would have room for a "stub" bed. I REFUSE to give up on my 84, since it has actually been as faithful as my old Dodge truck, which finally was laid to rest after 718,634 miles of pure farmtruck hell since it was new in 1974. The BII has along way to go to that many miles, but she is holding up as well as the old Dodge did.

Just quoting my earlier post.:dntknw:

By the way........:worthless:

I did think about finding an extended cab and going that route but almost everything is rusted to s**t after a few years here.

Can't do photos. it would be too heartbreaking.

if you don't mind the shipping hassle, i'm sure there are some good parts on it you could sell here.

You for sure could! The ol' BII would live on in many projects to come.

But I agree... nothing worse than seeing a vehicle start falling apart due to road salt. Here in BC they use GRAVEL a lot... not as much sand or salt... a real windshield killer for sure. Hopefully you can salvage some things from it.

Had her running this afternoon as I had to move the vehicles around in preparation for winter (need to leave the wife as much room as possible). she started right away, even though it's three weeks since I had her running and three minutes later the heater was blowing warm air, ten minutes I had to turn the heat down. The heater in the explorer don't work as well as that in july, let alone at these temperatures. I'm missing the heater already, boo hoo.

Go find yourself a B2 body and swap them. Don't let her go!
