I use 5W40 oil which is what Mazda recommends. I have a series 1 so I do not have a third oil injector. I have heard mixed reviews about premixing. There is a kit out there where I can put 2 stroke in with the fuel and not add it to the fuel in the fuel tank. If anything I will go that route to prolong the life of my fuel pump.

They are two strokes too?

For the two stroke small engines we sell (that run premixed fuel) we recommend to shake either the gascan before fuelling and the unit before running.

With the ethonal that has become so incredibly popular a tiny bit of water (condensation will do it) makes the ethonal seperate out, it goes to the bottom where the pickup is. The oil mix stays with the gas on top. So then you are running a two stroke on straight alchohol... for awhile.

In a way. They are designed from the factory to burn oil. They have an oil system that injects oil into the rotor housing I think to keep the apex seals good. Some people disable the oil system and run premix like a two stroke and leave the oil system more like a traditional 4 stroke.

When I finally decide to go premix, probably this spring, I will be installing a kit like this.

The only thing I got wrong is disabling the OMP, which is debated in the community.

I have never read/heard of anyone disabling their OMP. People that premix claim a better throttle response and piece of mind as why they do it.
