Now AutoZone is talking about not honoring the warranty stating I am dumping fuel into the cat. It is a returnless system. A cat designed for a piston engine will be burnt up stupid quick behind a rotary.

Get some high-flow cats.

The midpipe I am getting is catless. A rotary flows better without a cat. Plus there is no inspection where I live.

Their 'online mechanic' claims I am dumping fuel into the cat. That is not the case since it is a returnless system.

It is either a RP Supercat or a BHR mid-pipe. I am going to the BHR route bc there is only a $3 difference between the 2.

I get that. Lord knows I've spent my fair share to have a unique ride. The RX-8 is a great platform. My beef is not with you for owning one, it's with Mazda for putting the wrong engine in it.
I've just never understood the love people have for the Wankels. If Mazda had put the MZR engine in the RX-8 chassis, they would have sold way more, and had a more fuel efficient, reliable and powerful engine to match the rest of the platform. It would also have less harmful emissions, and a larger aftermarket.

Trust me I understand. I love the ride, handling and most of all the looks I get. I cannot wait for the spring meet to show everyone the projects I have completed.

3. Strut tower braces front and rear
