Well I have set my goal for next summer......Put my truck on it's top.
In tearms I want to kick my 4 wheeling up a few notchs, as I'm gettin bord with the easy-ish trail rideing.
So I need a roll cage, I don't want to be killed if/when I do put it on its top.
Alot of people has told me to just get some DOM and start bending. Well DOM is costy and being I have never bent tubeing I would rather spend a little extra and buy a pre bent kit. I want something that fits pretty sung to ever thing......

So were could I find a kit at? I have looke on jegs and a few outher sites and didt find anything.

You won't find a kit for a Ranger (drag racer style maybe, but I dought it). This has to be handmade. DOM is what really will save your life. Got to Peterson's 4wheeldrive mag or website and see how they did the red Ranger owned by one of the writers (Mansour). They added an unique system to the outside of the roof of the Ranger and bumpers as well. Some people call them an extra skeletal roll cage as seen on rockcrawlers.

Here is a link, Bro:

Thanks for the link, I never really liked the exo cages, but I am diggin the wya they done that one. I think I will be useing that truck for a lot of insperation for mine.

Jegs does offer a Ranger kit, but it is set up for a regular cab. I'm getting one for my choptop then modifying it as required to meet my needs. For what steel costs anymore and having to figure out how to plan my bends, seems a lot easier to me to start out with something that gets me halfway there. I don't know if they'll do anything custom or what it would cost (they told me they need a couple day's notice to bend one up for me when I called).

His website sucks, but call he makes nice roll cages.

Potsy has built some nice stuff. He still has not built the newer gen Ranger bumpers as we talked about a few years ago. I called him a bunch of times to yack at him. He has some neat stuff on pirate4x4 forms. He is a really nice guy. He sells a lot on Ebay. A roll cage custom made would not be cheap to have it delivered. That is really something that should be built with your truck at the site. I think he would be better off taking his truck to a fab shop and have what he really wants to have done and just pay for it. He has until next summer to start saving. The thing has to be mounted correctly and painted and then for true safelty, padded in areas to keep you 'pumkin' head from getting banged up in the event of an accident.

Not trying to be a dick, but he asked for a prebent cage.
Taking it to a fab shop is gonna be BIG $$$$ and take forever.
My $ .01 Im out

I bought a prebent cage from jegs a couple years ago but Idk if they still offer them.

Well, you are a dick....lol!!! :icon_rofl:

I am more concerned about safety!! He says he wants to be safe from a roll over and he will need to have the cage properly mounted and that is something I think he should let a fab shop do...not just bolt it in to the floor as I have seen many idiots do and not tie it into the frame and then maybe kill themselves or a buddy or get mangled. If he has never done this before he needs it to been done the best and safest way. This is why I suggested the fab shop. If he can buy one made and then get it installed by a fab shop (or a good 4x4 shop) that would be much better.
One of my buddy's went to his 4x4 shop to get one mounted that he bought on Ebay 2 years ago for his 86 Toyota 4x4. He paid $150 plus shipping for the cage (just a basic cage). The 4x4 shop charged him $220 to fit it in place, adjust it to fit perfect and then paint and install it the correct way. He was very happy with the work and he feels safe when he wheels.

Yes, Jegs still offers them, see my link.

Bout frogot about this post, been doing outer stuff. But i'm prolly going to go with the jegs kit and mod it for how I need it. I would't mind 1 bit to bulid it my self, but I don't have a bender nor have I used one. So buying a pre bent kit is the way for me.
And on the fab shop, none around me, and I would rather do it my self.

I don't know that I'd be so trusting that just any old fab shop would do a better job or whatnot. I've seen some pretty scary stuff come out of a couple of the local ones here.

The Jegs cage is supposed to exceed NHRA and IHRA standards for roll cages. They are supposed to be welded to the frame and whatnot, but I'm sure you could do braces to the frame and make things even stronger. I plan on adding braces to mine down to the frame and use a bushing at the frame to allow the body to flex some.

exo cage

I was thinking of buying roll cage that fits Ford f 100 and adapting it to fit Ford Ranger as an exo cage was wondering if any one else has tried it
