Rocky Mountain Ranger '92 SAS

I cut the lower control arm mounts off and cleaned the tubes up to weld on the HD ones

burned off coil retainers via Stangs plasma

I recentered, plated and welded the coil retainers over axle tubes and welded on LCA mounts. The new lower mounts use cam bolts to adjust caster, but since my radius arms will be fully adjustable I will be using weld washers and standard bolts to secure the arms.

a picture of my axle truss I bent up and added some dimples to.
I also made some skids for the LCA mounts.

Thanks, I have a lot more pictures but the wife has the camera and is out of town. The axles, doubler, hydro etc. all going in, second weekend of October, so I can hit some trails before the snow flies!

Looking good. How much flex you think you will get out of that setup? How much travel your going after?

SVT

Let me know so we can take the Rangers out for some wheeling. We are looking at house with 15 acres and a pole barn tomorrow I am hoping the wife goes for it. Best part is that is only 8 mins from downtown Parker and just outside of the emissions area so no more waiting in line to get my rides tested!!! And if you need a hand let me know I might have time to help you.

I expect to have to use straps to limit the down travel, and I will see how everything clears the engine xmember once the axle is in. I just want enough flex to not be lifting a wheel very often on the steep stuff.

Yeah wish I could have made wheeler lake, but we will go out when its done for sure. That sounds like the ideal setup...if you get it can I register my truck at your address:D:thefinger:. we will just put my truck on the assembly line at your house, so that it is done in an afternoon.lol. If you are free I would take some help.

Pressed in WJ balljoints for the new knuckles, and then started mocking up the steering and got a little carried away:icon_cheers:.

Looking good, are those 6" xj coils?

Nice looking build so far. I like it.

Any updates in this yet?

Cool build, nice pictures. I really like the close ups, fun for gearhead.

Youll have to post about how those trutracs handle at speed in slippery conditions. I think they were designed to be the best of both a locker and a limited slip.

Ive done some small things, put in a new windshield and wired up some lights but it is still ttb.

Ive been real happy with the trutrac in my 8.8 for a daily driver/trail rig it works great and in the snow, and rocks.

I upgraded my stock p.s. pump to a HD T-Bird Saginaw style pump. I had to make a few cuts and do some grinding on the 4.0 bracket to make it fit.
