Rock Auto

Hey now... I'm driving a 96 Pontiac Sunfire with 415,000km on it. Total of $800 invested over 2 years (including winter tires on rims)... I think it's a good little car too. It impressed me...lol.

Ok... now I have to assume you shave your legs and have a man bun too. Rusty says he will meet you at Starbucks.

Yeah, but did your Pontiac almost become the recall king?

I had a 2003 Sunfire. 63,000km on the clock, I put an engine in it. Drove it for six more months, and traded it in. When I traded it, it was running REALLY rough, and had a broken motor mount. For the record, that Sunfire cornered like a land yacht, and was more uncomfortable than my '85 Ranger with a contoured bench.

Talk about turning radius. I had a early 2000's dodge stratus, two door. Had the turning radius of schools bus.

Use to sing, give me 40 acres, to myself sometimes when trying to turn around in a parking lot.

Now I don’t feel alone when I’m driving something with stupid big turning radius :icon_rofl:

ford focus have terrible turning radius, according to my son. he said his 14 focus st has a wider radius than all the vehicles we have, which is weird since we have a full size four door truck

Weirdly enough, my '92 F-150 was the easiest thing to maneuver I've ever driven. Had single cab short bed, and I could whip that thing around the tightest corners. That with the great visibility of the single cab made it super easy to drive.

When I got my ranger I was expect it to have a similar turning radius, but it's actually a bit wider. I think the ranger actually has a bit longer wheel base, I also don't think the wheels turn as far lock to lock.

If you ever get the chance, drive a Bronco II. Those would turn in incredibly tight spaces.

i bet they are very similar to an older two door wrangler. i loved how my wrangler and my older cherokee turned

Actually, I think they have the two door wrangler beat for turning, not by much though. Wheelbase is the same as a Wrangler.

The house I did most of my growing up in had a bit of a rough setup with the driveway. When the house was built, the driveway had gone downhill to a road, but when the townhouse complex on that road expanded, the driveway was changed to go uphill to the main road (this was prior to my parents owning it). Had a single car garage on the basement level on the side of the house that the entrance to (and part of the turn around) was under a wood deck. Two parking spots off the back of the turn around and one off the side. People had a terrible habit of pulling down the driveway and swinging under the deck to find that they now couldn’t turn around because even with most smaller cars, the back of the car ended up too far uphill and they didn’t have enough turning radius to correct for that. The trick was to swing towards the deck, then cut to the outside corner and back under the deck, which was possible in almost any vehicle except the dump trucks because they didn’t fit under the deck. That approach worked even when my truck started getting parked in the turn around next to the truck on the side. For fun once, with my Ranger parked in the turn around and all the parking spots full there (there was one other spot at the top of the driveway), I took my Bronco II down there and ignorantly pulled under the deck (worst possible approach I could manage), backed up, and cleanly swung up the driveway, no wiggling needed. That was the only vehicle I ever saw able to perform that feat.

Interesting. Mind you, the 2014 Focus is a TOTALLY different car from my 2004, but my '04 turned on a dime compared to the '03 Sunfire I had.

I’ve founded the same products on Amazon for cheaper once you include the shipping Rock Auto charges. I’m being charged for shipping when they sent me the wrong control arms.

Sorry for turning a rock auto thread into a turning radius and Sunfire (!?) thread.

Sometimes I start fires by accident. It has been entertaining and informative...so sorry not sorry..

My daughter had a ‘13 focus, good little car. one of the keys was a programmed “my key”. I knew nothing of it until ine day I had it, wouldnt go over 75 with it and message on dash said something like “radio muted until seat belts fastened”. I didnt know she had one of those insurance company tattletale things until later, and that when I was driving it with the other key, the radio worked then and it went substantially faster than 75. 😆. On turning radius, Im very suprized the 2011 escape doesnt turn any tighter circle than it does. Dont know if its a power rack thing or just suspension design. Other than that I really like it, I call it my “bronco III”.

My '11 Fusion did he same thing with one of the keys. I bought it at auction and it was a rental fleet car.

One of the keys allows you to change/remove these settings. The main or "dealer" key will let you do this.

Mine had speed and stereo volume limits, I removed them with the other key.
