Revitalizing ranger plastic fender flares? Heatgun it?

On another car forum someone mentioned painting plastic trim with the paint that is used on Jeep hardtops because it has UV inhibitors. I thought that would be a good option for the black plastic trim and bumpers the mid-2000s use, but I only found flat black when searching online. If I could find a satin or semigloss I would try it. Out here the dust would stick to the flat paint and a bit of a sheen would be easier to wash.

I like to use Meguiar's Ultimate Black and work just fine.
