Reverse Light Switch

I said when I finish it .. I did not give any indication of WHEN that will be .. Sheesh .. You guys are as bad as my ex-wife .. If I say I am gonna do something, I'm gonna do it .. No need to remind me about it every six months ..
🤣👀🖕👀🤣
i just screw it in....

grow a better hand.

Bobby is on to something here.
many times I have had to shove a hand up into, over, around, and thru a cramped hidden place to get something.
getting snagged by a sharp part is almost required. the worst scenario is forcing past something that turns into a one-way wedge that traps your hand. BTDT

here is a think out-of-the-box idea.
remove just the transmission mount and pull the tranny to the pass side with a ratchet strap, or whatever.
or a combination of down 'n over.

have you tested the switch?

i assumed the old switch tested bad hence the new switch.

i have a broken one in the explorer. its ttb though and easier to get to.

because the tunnel is cut out of it too.

Ya. Switch no bueno.

Once I pulled it out, since it's a NO switch I plugged it back in and if I pressed the little ball just right or wiggled the connector just right I could get the lights to come on.

Once the switch is in I am going to snip off the old connector and splice in a new one.

It's the damn metal fuel lines that are the problem.

I can get my hand with the switch in my fingers up in line with the hole.
But by that time my hand is kinda wedged against the ribs of the trans housing and all I can really manipulate is my fingertips so I can't square it to the threaded hole to align the threads to be able to get it to screw in.
I'm also working blind, it's above the horizontal center of the housing.

I kinda like this idea.
I really only need 1.5 - 2"
If I unbolt the trans mount, loop a ratchet strap around the tail housing and the passenger side frame rail I might be able to get it to shift that much without undoing anything else.
I'm pretty sure there are no other "hard mounting points" other than that between the bellhousing and the output of the t-case.
